It has been wonderful to see how all of the houses are getting into the spirit of Christmas. Decorations abound indoors and outdoors bringing joy ot the residents and all who visit. Some inspirational projects of note- Deck the Doors contest at Viola Street, Craft projects at Third Street, going for evening rides to see lights at the Plex and the Lair, and here are the guys from El Ranch putting on the ritz!

In late October, El-Ranch hosted a craft night and The Plex and Third Street House attended. The whole gang had a great time. Thank you to FVTC Occupational Therapy Assistant Program for planning the event.

MR CARES endevored on another successful journey across the border into Minnesota. The weather was beautiful, complimenting our visit to the Mall of America, great dining and activities, and visiting the Science Musuem.
Highlights included a walk through the aquarium, dining at the 99 lb buffet, shopping, and the nickelodeon theme park at the mall!

We had a lot of fun at the party. Viola would like to say thank you to all of the people that came and celebrated with us. The food was good and the conversation was pleasant.

Per the guys' expressed interests, we again pursued trick-or-treating within the area neighborhood for Halloween this year.
Wrestling superstar Sting from The Plex joined our vampire, werewolf, Handy Manny and The Joker in their door to door candy hunt.
This certainly beat handing out candy at the house. Apparently, we only had three trick-or-treaters come by while we were out and about.
Additionally, we had some great social opportunities involved with meeting some of our neighbors and getting to know the extended neighborhood. :)

Some folks from the Lair and 3rd Street ventured down to Milwaukee this month for one of the last Brewer games of the season! How exciting to see all the homerun fireworks! Bonus - The brewers Won! :)

This years MR CARES company picnic at South Park in Waupaca proved an excellent venue with something for everyone!
In addition, an overcast day (free of rain) kept us all cool with a refreshing break from the hot sun of this 2012 summer.
Thanks to all who came, brought wonderful food to share, played the many games- and took the time to learn about each other just a little more through our "getting to know you" challenge.
Thanks also to the many frogs zipping around the nearby stream, adding a natural source of entertainment and curiousity for many of our attendees!

A stealthy band of superheros ventured out from their Lair early this week to (reportedly) celebrate a duo of birthdays at local ninja hangout- Nakashimas. Members of the group were seen associating with (supposedly fake) ninjas, as well as performing aerial stunts involving chopsticks. Our cameras were confiscated after taking just one incriminating photo!
